Figures like Conrad Grebel, Felix Manz, and Michael Sattler are well known for their roles in the founding and first years of the Anabaptist movement. But there was another figure important to the beginnings of Anabaptism that we rarely hear about. This man, Balthasar Hubmaier, did significant work on Anabaptist theology up to his martyrdom in 1528. He also had his share of weakness and struggle. Dean Taylor gives a profile of who Hubmaier was, what he contributed to the Anabaptist movement, and how his failings led to tragedy.
