<p>Narelle Mason and Matt Newlands are former frontline workers who now work as registered counsellors equipping frontline workers/first responders to face the unique mental health challenges of frontline work such as policing, military, paramedics and firefighters.</p><p><br></p><p>In 2022, they cofounded Frontline Mental Health to help frontline workers prepare for the psychological and emotional challenges that frontline work presents.</p><p><br></p><p>On this episode of BASED, Senator Antic speaks with Narelle and Matt about the current mental health situation in frontline workplaces, the value of preventative work, the concept of post-traumatic growth, and the costs of not addressing traumatic aspects of frontline professions.</p>
