On the evening of 13th October 2022, in the Hedingham neighbourhood of northeast Raleigh, North

Carolina, residents heard shots. Those who stepped outside saw a figure moving through the quiet

suburban streets - dressed head to toe in camouflage, carrying a long gun, walking with slow and

deliberate purpose through a neighbourhood he had known his entire life.

Nobody who saw him that evening could have known what he had already done.
