Afraid But Not Abandoned — Genesis 19:30-20:18 | Dave Miers31 aug35 min

Genesis 19:30–20:18 shows that even rescued and experienced believers remain vulnerable to compromise and fear. Lot’s family carries the ways of Sodom with them, while Abraham returns to an old strategy of deception. In Gethsemane, Jesus entrusts himself to the Father and gives himself for fearful sinners like us. When we’re afraid, can we really trust God to be for us? Romans 8 gives a resounding answer: nothing can separate those in Christ from the love of God.

✨ Count the Stars | Genesis 12–25 Series

📖 Genesis 19:30-20:18

🎙️ Preached by Rev Dave Miers at Christ our Refuge on 30 August, 2026

Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/QmRF8_6LADk

📝 Outline:

1/ RESCUED—BUT STILL COMPROMISED
Genesis 19:30–38

2/ EXPERIENCED—BUT STILL AFRAID
Genesis 20:1–13

3/ GUILTY—BUT NOT ABANDONED
Genesis 20:14–18
Mark 14:32–36
Romans 8:31–39

🎥 Filmed and published by Good News Unlimited
⸻
🔗 Learn more or connect with us:

🌐 Christ our Refuge – a gospel-centred church in Brisbane, Australia, offering refuge, security, and hope in Christ - https://christrefuge.co

🌐 Good News Unlimited – exists to help everyday people see Jesus clearly in God’s word... so they can enjoy grace, life, and hope without limits - https://goodnewsunlimited.com

🙌 Subscribe for weekly sermons, biblical teaching, and gospel encouragement.
⸻
#goodnewsunlimited #seejesusclearly #christrefugeco #gospel #bibleteaching #sermon #Jesus
