Acts 11:1-18 - Don't Miss What God is Doing

In Jerusalem, the first response to Peter’s report that Gentiles received the gospel and the Holy Spirit was criticism—“Why did you eat with Gentiles?”—showing they were consumed with methods instead of God’s miracle. Peter humbly recounts the vision, the angel’s direction, witnesses, and the Spirit falling on Gentiles “as on us,” concluding, “Who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” The church then falls silent and glorifies God, modeling that healthy churches celebrate transformed lives and remain teachable as God stretches them.
