150: The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Heist17 aug49 min

In the early hours of March 18, 1990, two men dressed as police officers arrived at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. After convincing the security guards to let them inside, the men restrained the guards and spent the next 81 minutes moving through the museum.

By the time they left, the thieves had stolen 13 works of art worth $500 million. They disappeared without a trace, and more than 36 years later, none of the stolen artwork has been recovered, leaving investigators searching for answers in what remains the largest property crime in United States history.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s security director at 617-278-5114 or reward@gardnermuseum.org. Confidentiality is assured and a $10 million reward is available.
