Arts & Media Mini Series - Recast of RAMPD Up: Music & Disability with Precious Perez

<p>July 26th marked the 36th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. As we’ve talked about many times on this podcast, the ADA was no doubt, a major milestone for accessibility and the inclusion of disabled people in social, economic, and civic life. But there is still so much work to do, including in the music industry, where the inaccessibility of performance venues and award ceremonies like the Grammys, and the undervaluing of disabled music professionals continue to invisibilize disability culture.</p><p><br></p><p>In this throwback from season five, Qudsiya sat down with Precious Perez, a classically trained Pop R&amp;B and Latin vocalist, song writer, and multi instrumentalist, about her involvement with <a href="https://rampd.org/" target="_blank">Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities</a>, an organization co-founded by past Down to the Struts guest, <a href="https://www.downtothestruts.com/episodes/lachi-rampd-disability-music#page" target="_blank">Lachi</a>.
