Episode 140: Father Gerald Robinson, Priest, Devil Worshipper, Murderer
On Holy Saturday, April 5, 1980, Catholic nun Sister Margaret Ann Pahl was murdered in a chapel in Toledo, Ohio in a ritualistic manner many thought was a human sacrifice to the devil.
There was only one suspect, a moody and brooding priest named Father Gerald Robinson; but, in what many considered an elaborate conspiracy involving police, bishops, prosecutors and church officials, no charges were ever filed and the case went unsolved.
Over twenty years later, as the Catholic Church erupted in sex abuse scandals, the case was reopened, exposing numerous allegations of a cult of Satanic priests, sadomasochistic sex rituals, secret files hidden by church officials to cover abuse and murder, prostitution, and ritualistic killings, culminating in the first conviction of an American priest in the killing of a nun.
Happy Easter. Strap in, and get ready for one hell of a ride.
