Paul LeBlanc is an innovative change maker in higher ed who led Southern New Hampshire University’s transformation from a small regional institution with a couple thousand students to one of the largest nonprofit providers of online higher education in the country.  In his latest book Reclaiming Purpose: The University in an AI World he presents a vision of higher education that shifts from knowledge transfer to teaching students how to develop the human skills that will set them apart from artificial intelligence. In this conversation with Inside Higher Ed editor in chief Sara Custer, LeBlanc explains what his prediction could mean for faculty and institutional leaders and encourages higher ed to take a leading role in ethical AI design.
