"I Wasn't Supposed To Still Be Here" - She Tried It to Prove Him Wrong - Then Everything Changed
Some conversations deserve more attention and a second life.
I originally recorded this conversation with Donnellyn Dominguez about three years ago, and when I recently went back into the Third Chances archives, I knew this one deserved to be brought back. Newly re-edited.

Donnellyn didn't become a midwife until her 50s. She went on to deliver more than 1,000 babies and built one of the largest birth centers in Texas. Then the woman who had spent years caring for others suddenly found herself facing a frightening health crisis of her own.
What followed challenged everything she thought she knew, including her strong resistance to something she initially refused to even consider. In fact, when she finally agreed to try it, her intention was simple: She wanted to prove the person recommending it wrong.
This conversation is about much more than health. We talk about reinvention later in life, skepticism, loss, purpose, the things we sometimes dismiss too quickly - and what can happen when life forces us to reconsider the path we thought we were on.
At one point, the conversation became deeply personal for me as well. If you've ever had to start again, change your mind, or wonder whether your best chapter might still be ahead of you, this is one worth watching.
