Shot on a $20 million budget back in New Mexico (same stomping grounds as The Guest), Onslaught follows a trio of unstoppable, Terminator-style killers unleashed on a small town, with Adria Arjona, Dan Stevens, Reginald VelJohnson, and Rebecca Hall caught in the crossfire. A return to Wingard's indie roots after directing Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong, pic homages the heck out of the seminal films by John Carpenter (Halloween, The Fog, and especially Assault on Precinct 13) as well a healthy dose of James Cameron (circa Terminator and Terminator: Judgment Day; even Hicks....Michael Biehn...makes an appearance). But will Cupcake (who is dying to marry Adam Wingard) and diehard Wingard fans be satisfied by this "spiritual" sequel that lives in the universe of The Guest?
