Vibe Curator: Emily Trageser, Co-Founder, Girls Who Walk Baltimore

An hour before the first-ever Girls Who Walk Baltimore, it was raining, and Emily Trageser had a choice to make. She pushed the walk back an hour and hoped. Women started messaging: I was there; I walked without you. 60 women showed up. Emily and Summer had cases of water, hair ties, band aids, and a paper sign-in sheet.

Walks now draw up to 500 women, and Under Armour hosts a Women's History Month walk at its new campus. There’s a larger mission: rewrite the story people tell about Baltimore. City developers call it the last uncut gem of the East Coast.

Her secret weapon is a team of vibe curators. When a new walker arrives, the vibe curator rings a cowbell and starts cheering. Walk leaders play matchmaker before anyone takes a step. There are smiley stickers for women who want to chat. Some come to zone out, which is fine too.
