When Earth Speaks: Gaia Theory, Disasters, and Mother Nature's Wake-Up Call?

Fires, floods, earthquakes and cyclones seem to be happening all the time now, and with ever-more intensity. This year has seen records being broken in many areas in terms of the frequency and intensity of such events. At least where human beings are concerned, these are records that aren’t to be wanted.

Yet, can we pin all of what’s happening on global warming, and might Mother Nature herself be telling us that it’s time to take serious note of how we’re impacting her natural order?

These are the questions we’ll explore in the latest edition of Impact! as we delve into Gaia Theory, examine how interconnected Earth systems and human activity influence disaster risk, and get specific on what might really be behind these awesome phenomena. As always, we then move to where our intentions and prayers may be most needed.

We will that the intensity and frequency of natural disasters this year will motivate the governments of all nations to redouble efforts to act decisively with measures to reduce or contain global warming, and that those who continue to advocate for such actions among them will remain resilient in their advocacy.
