<p>On a day where the major championship scoring record was equalled twice, day two of the Open Championship was all about Bryson DeChambeau who was assessed a two shot penalty for inadvertently improving his lie on the fifth. That caused a debacle not seen for many a year and it remains to be seen whether the American will tee it up tomorrow.</p><p>This was all happening as David Howard narrowly missed out on making the cut and winning the silver medal as Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy remained on the fringes of contention heading into the weekend.</p>
