How to Grieve | Psalm 13 | Josh Gardner | Psalms: The Songbook of Jesus.
Suffering is universal. We're either walking out of it, stuck in it, or bracing for it. But Psalm 13 offers a surprising answer: not stoic silence, not fake positivity, but lament. David shows us the honest path: crying out to God with raw grief, boldly asking for help, and then choosing to trust even when nothing's changed. And God welcomes every bit of it.
The real invitation in Psalm 13 is to greater honesty with God actually leads to greater closeness with him. He's not offended by our pain, and he's not distant from it either. Jesus himself entered our sorrow and became the "man of sorrows" so we'd never have to grieve alone. So don't just endure the dark. Bring it to God. That's not weak faith. That's exactly what faith looks like.
