X-Men 97 Season 2 is packed full of characters from X-Force, the New Mutants, and Generation X, so this week we’re bringing you the story of how Marvel went from the smash-hit success of the 90s X-Men and created a team of the weirdest Marvel Mutants of all time! Since the 80s Marvel had been working on a comic book series that focused on Professor X teaching children how to use their mutant powers. But when Cable turned The New Mutants into X-Force, Marvel decided to create a new comic book and refocus on the idea of Mutants being weird body-horror monsters that were rejected by the rest of the world - a comic book called Generation X!
