The Gospel We Need (Romans Part 1) - The Power of the Gospel
The Gospel We Need (Romans Part 1) - The Power of the Gospel
The Book of Romans opens with one of the most powerful declarations in all of Scripture. Paul identifies himself not by his accomplishments or reputation, but as a servant set apart for the gospel of God. From the very first verses, he makes clear that the gospel is not a philosophy or a set of rules. It is about a person, Jesus Christ, who is the fulfillment of every promise God made throughout the Old Testament. This gospel is for everyone, regardless of background, ethnicity, or moral history. Righteousness before God is not something we earn through performance. It is received through faith. The same gospel that transformed a persecutor into an apostle is available to every person today.
