The war against Iran – pause or cessation?

The Iranian people have comprehensively demonstrated that US imperialism, for all its huge and unparalleled wealth, can no longer expect to have its own way in war.

There are those who imagine that because Iran has been victorious in forcing US imperialism to back down, it is therefore in a position to dictate terms for unconditional US surrender, just as the Soviet Union imposed on the defeated Nazis at the end of WW2. On this basis, they are denouncing Iranian government ‘treachery’ for having returned to the negotiating table! One moment’s thought, however, would reveal the absurdity of such a position.
