College football fandom isn't always logical. Sometimes there are teams that haven't necessarily done anything wrong, but for whatever reason, they're just difficult to like.

That's where the conversation goes with Oregon and Boise State.

There isn't necessarily hatred for the Boise State fan base, but that doesn't mean there's any desire to start rooting for the Broncos either. Sometimes a program just lands on the wrong side of personal college football preferences, and figuring out exactly why isn't always easy.

Then there's Oregon.

Maybe it's the Nike money. Maybe it's the national attention. Maybe it's the branding and everything that has surrounded Oregon football as the Ducks have grown into one of the biggest programs in the sport.

Or maybe this one goes much deeper.

Auburn fans certainly have their own history with Oregon after the Tigers defeated the Ducks for the national championship. Games like that don't disappear from the memory of a fan base. National championship matchups create connections between programs that can stick around long after the players and coaches involved have moved on.

And sometimes the explanation is even simpler than football.
