Life Unlocked (Part II)

Key Points

Jesus came to give Zoe, the God-kind of life. Whoever has the Son has it; whoever does not, does not.

Jesus is the door of the sheep: the only way into the people of God, and the Shepherd who guards the fold.

His sheep know His voice through the Word, prayer, and staying with other sheep. They will not follow thieves and robbers.

The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came that we may have Zoe, and have it abundantly.

One Zoe-choker is a stolen identity: the Church is the people of God, not a building. You cannot “go to church.”

Another is divide-and-conquer: factions that pull us under any name but Jesus.

Cessationism can be a quiet overreaction that restricts New Covenant power the Spirit still intends to give.

Hyper-charismania can be a violent counterfeit: demanding tongues as proof, chasing highs, and confusing disorder with the Spirit.

A life abandoned leads to life abundant. Die to yourself, stay at His table when the feelings fade, and follow the Good Shepherd.

Discussion

Jesus said His sheep know His voice. Where are you actually practicing discernment of His voice, and where are you mostly listening to other voices?

Which “Zoe choker” do you recognize more in your own life right now: a Sunday-only identity, division, an over-cautious unbelief about the Spirit, or chasing a spiritual high?

Pastor Marcus described cessationism as a quiet thief and hyper-charismania as a bold robber. How have you seen either extreme choke life in yourself or in people you love?

What does loyalty to Jesus look like for you when the feelings run dry?

The door has been unlocked: a life abandoned leads to life abundant. What is one way you need to die to yourself this week so Zoe can actually be lived?
