Why Did God Allow Lucifer to Rebel? | The War Before Genesis – EP 4

Why Did God Allow Lucifer to Rebel? | The War Before Genesis – EP 44 sep43 min

This may be the hardest question in the entire War Before Genesis series: If God knew Lucifer would rebel… why did He allow it? God could have created beings incapable of rebellion. He could have stopped Lucifer before the consequences spread. Yet Scripture presents a creation where genuine agency, rebellion, suffering, redemption, judgment, and restoration all become part of the story. In Episode 4, Bennett Tanton examines the biblical case for why God permitted the rebellion to continue — and why free will alone may not completely answer the question. We examine Job’s confrontation with the Accuser and the disturbing question behind Satan’s challenge: Can anyone genuinely love God for who He is rather than simply for what He gives them? Then we turn to Ephesians 3, where Paul says the Church is displaying the wisdom of God to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

Humanity may be participating in something far larger than most Christians have been taught — a cosmic demonstration taking place before the spiritual powers themselves.
