If roughly 90% of Americans agree that only U.S. citizens should vote, why isn’t Washington — and specifically the Senate — fixing it?

That question produced what Erin Molan calls the single greatest answer she has received in 21 years of television interviews.

Jack Tomczak, Vice President of Outreach for Americans for Citizen Voting, joins The Erin Molan Show to explain a part of the U.S. voting system many Americans may not realize exists: non-citizens can legally vote in certain local elections, including in Washington, D.C.

Tomczak explains why Americans for Citizen Voting is pushing for a constitutional amendment explicitly reserving voting in federal elections for U.S. citizens, why he believes the current constitutional framework leaves a major loophole, and how the effort relates to President Donald Trump’s SAVE America Act.

But then Erin asks the question that changes the entire interview:

If this is really a 90-10 issue with overwhelming public support, why are politicians in Washington so reluctant to actually get it done?

Jack pauses.

And gives Erin an answer she says she may remember forever.

They also discuss citizenship, election integrity, non-citizen voting, Congress, the U.S. Senate, the SAVE America Act and what Americans can do if they want lawmakers to act.
