We come into this world compassionate. Violence is taught.</li><li>We buy organic and free-range because we believe we&#39;re good people, BUT WE DON&#39;T WANT TO BE TOO INCONVENIENCED.</li><li>It&#39;s not HOW we keep animals, IT&#39;S THAT WE BRING THEM INTO THIS WORLD ONLY TO KILL THEM. It&#39;s a system of violence that&#39;s unchecked. <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B3Z8QAC?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferer">Check out Gail Eisnitz&#39;s book <em><strong>Slaughterhouse</strong></em></a>.</li><li>It&#39;s painful to become awake but the price we pay for not being awake is hardening our hearts and our awareness of truth.</li><li><strong>WHAT IS COMPASSION? </strong>It&#39;s connection and awareness that whatever I do impacts someone else.</li><li>The point is not to be vegan. It&#39;s to be compassionate, and veganism is the way to get there.</li><li>It&#39;s easy to say we&#39;re compassionate, but where is that manifesting in daily behavior.</li><li>Change only happens when we&#39;re willing to stretch comfort zones.</li><li>Many people are happy and busy and feel like they can&#39;t fit anything else in, but <strong>MANY PEOPLE ALSO FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS MISSING</strong>.</li><li>Evolution is the thing because the alternative is to stay stagnant. Change happens when we inspire each other as humans.</li><li>If you think vegan will be hard, that&#39;s what it&#39;ll be.</li><li><strong>The foundation of most cultures&#39; cuisines IS PLANTS</strong>.</li><li>The first step to being a joyful vegan is to orient that way.</li><li>Being vegan is about saying <strong>NO </strong>to cruelty, unhealthiness, violence, habitat devastation, and slaughter, and saying <strong>YES </strong>to flavor, abundance, joy, health, wellness, and compassion.</li><li>Perception shift: animal products do not have to be the center of the plate. Replace the animal with plant protein and have lots of side dishes.</li><li>If you have an option to be compassionate, take it.</li><li>No matter where you live, there&#39;s always something you can do to support native pollinators and wi
