Andy Burnham stood at the despatch box at PMQs today and proudly declared that Britain will "always stand with the underdog."

Really, Andy? Then here's my question: WHAT ABOUT US BRITS?!

What about ordinary British people struggling with the cost of living? What about communities demanding action on crime, antisocial behaviour and illegal immigration? What about people who feel increasingly ignored by the political establishment in their own country?

Burnham says Britain must stand against injustice and has defended his Government's action against Israeli settlements in the West Bank as an example of British leadership. But I want to know: WHEN DOES THAT SAME PASSION GET DIRECTED AT THE PROBLEMS HERE AT HOME?

This isn't a debate about whether Palestinians or Israelis deserve peace, security and justice — of course they do. It's about the priorities of the BRITISH Prime Minister. Burnham says he wants to fight for the underdog. Well Andy, millions of ordinary British people feel like THEY'RE THE UNDERDOGS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

I'm asking whether Burnham and his Government are more interested in making grand gestures on the world stage than sorting out Britain. 🔥
