If Jesus already did everything necessary to save you, why bother trying to be good anymore? Why fight sin so hard? Why forgive the person who hurt you? Why do the right thing when nobody's watching?

Here's the beautiful answer. We don't obey God so that he will save us. We obey him because he already has. In this devotional I open up Romans 6, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the difference between Jesus dying for us and Jesus living for us, the perfect life you and I never could. Grace comes first, gratitude follows, and our good works are simply that gratitude made visible.
