Fatal Chaos From Spring Day Festivities Leaves Most In Shock and Disgust
Government has come out strongly condemning the fatal chaos which resulted from Spring Day festivities on Tuesday. What was meant to be a joyful celebration on the 1st of September descended into turmoil as youths lined up the streets, hurling buckets of water at motorists and passersby. This turned fatal in Cullinan, east of Pretoria, where 21-year-old Tshepang Nyathi was stabbed to death after an argument broke out when his group splashed water on a 53-year-old man. Some commentators have since called for stronger enforcement of municipal bylaws while most have questioned the moral fabric of the country's young people. Williams together with Dr Bongane Mzinyane, Lecturer in Social Work at the University of KwaZulu-Natal
