Steve Gallant was serving a life sentence for murder when his life took an extraordinary and unexpected turn.

In 2019, while temporarily released from prison to attend a rehabilitation event, Gallant became one of the members of the public who helped confront and restrain the terrorist responsible for the London Bridge attack. His actions were recognised for their bravery and sparked a national conversation about rehabilitation, redemption and whether people can truly change.
