Federal agents arrested 56-year-old Julie Hanway Molina outside her Aliso Viejo home Thursday morning on a four-count wire fraud indictment. Prosecutors say that while serving as treasurer of the Aliso Niguel High School booster club, she diverted more than $400,000 from the nonprofit to pay her mortgage and credit card bills, using falsified treasurer reports to cover it up. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years on each count.

Garnet "Ace" Bailey, the Kings' director of pro scouting, and amateur scout Mark Bavis were aboard United Flight 175 out of Boston on September 11, 2001, headed to training camp. Bailey was 53. Bavis was 31. A quarter century later, the team still wears an "AM" sticker on the back of every helmet, and the Kings mascot carries Bailey's name.

The Rams and 49ers meet at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the first NFL regular season game ever played in Australia, in front of a crowd near 100,000. The Rams come in as favorites with a rebuilt defense — Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, and Aaron Donald out of retirement — while the Niners flew in nearly a week early to beat the jet lag that L.A. is ignoring entirely.
