The Blessing and the Wound: What You Carry Out of the Fight
The Blessing and the Wound: What You Carry Out of the Fight explores those moments when the consequences of your choices finally catch up with you and there seems to be nowhere left to run. In this episode, I reflect on Jacob’s life and the night he found himself alone, wrestling with God. Jacob had spent much of his life relying on his own plans and schemes, but this encounter changed everything. By morning, he walked away with both a blessing and a limp. Through Jacob’s story, I explore what it means to come out of a difficult season carrying both the evidence of God’s faithfulness and the scars of the struggle. Jacob received a new name and a new identity, but he was not unchanged by the fight. Sometimes, God meets us in the moments when we can no longer rely on our own strength, and the transformation we experience may come with wounds that become part of our story.
