Ep 145: I Thought I Was Opening a Café...

When I opened Grounded, I thought I was building another piece of my business.

What I didn't expect was how much the café would end up teaching me.

About creativity.
About being a beginner.
About letting things be imperfect.
About people, community, leadership, and learning to listen without letting every opinion become your compass.

And honestly?

I didn't realize how much I missed creating simply because it was fun.

Trialing new drinks. Coming up with sandwich combinations. Playing with flavours. Making something that doesn't work and trying again. Letting an idea become something before I decide whether it's "good enough."

Grounded has reminded me that sometimes the thing we're building is also building us.

In this episode, I'm sharing the unexpected lessons I've learned behind the counter, and why I think there's something beautiful about being willing to experiment, get it wrong, ask for help, and keep creating anyway.

Because maybe there is no "arrival."

Maybe we're meant to keep learning, evolving, creating, and becoming.

And sometimes...

the thing you're building is building you.
