The Glen Hofbauer Interview.
What if some of your greatest creative years don’t arrive until your second act?
Award-winning singer-songwriter Glen Hofbauer joins Coach Dini on Vigilantes Radio Live for a nostalgic and deeply human conversation surrounding his latest Americana Folk Rock single, “When We Were Cool.”
Originally inspired by a performance at a high school’s 100th alumni banquet, the song became a celebration of those universal moments when friends, music, slang, school days and youthful confidence made us believe we were the coolest people alive.
But Glen’s story reaches far beyond nostalgia. After playing in a garage band during high school, life eventually pushed music to the background. Roughly four decades later, he returned to his passion and has since built a second chapter that includes ten albums and being named “One To Watch” twice by the Nashville Songwriters Association.
Glen and Coach Dini explore why memories become more valuable with age, the relationship between nostalgia and songwriting, returning to a dream after decades away, refusing to be confined by genre, and why creativity doesn’t come with an expiration date.
Sometimes moving forward begins by remembering what made you feel alive in the first place.
