Old Time Radio Sci-Fi — X Minus One: "How-2" (1956) | Full Episode

X Minus One was NBC's great science fiction anthology, adapting the best of Galaxy and Astounding for adult ears. In this Clifford D. Simak story, Gordon Knight orders a build-it-yourself robot dog kit and receives, by clerical error, an experimental android named Albert. Albert never tires, never sleeps, and — given raw material — can build more of himself. Soon a crew of robots is remaking the Knight property, the How-2 Company is suing to get its prototype back, the tax men are demanding payment on the robot family, and Albert has taken up counterfeiting to cover the bills. It all ends in a courtroom, where a judge must decide whether a machine that reasons is property or a person.
