92. A Legacy of Love: The Rob G Freedom Center in West Africa

In this episode, Deb Baliko sits down with her mother, Deborah, and her aunt, Diane, to share their personal experiences with Orphan Relief and Rescue (ORR) in West Africa—and the moments that changed their perspectives forever.

Diane shares the story behind the Rob G Freedom Center, created in memory of her late husband, Rob, and inspired by his love for Africa. She reflects on her relationship with Rebecca, who leads Orphan Relief and Rescue, and how those experiences helped turn a vision into a place of hope and opportunity for vulnerable children.

Today, the Freedom Center is making an extraordinary impact—feeding approximately 300 children each day, providing access to education, and creating opportunities for children to learn about Jesus. Diane also recounts a powerful moment during a heavy rainstorm that brought home just how important it is for children to have a safe, dependable place to gather.

Deborah shares memories from her first trip to Africa, including what struck her most about the resilience and joy of the children and the dedication of the ORR team serving them. She and Diane also reflect on visiting the safe home and witnessing firsthand the difference that safety, love, consistency, and care can make in a child’s life.
