Mild Morning and Western Sydney Delays
Wake Up Sydney brings you the latest weather, traffic and trains update for Friday, 11 September 2026, helping you start the day across Sydney with everything you need to know.
Sydney is waking to a mild and partly cloudy day. The CBD begins at around 12°C and is heading for a top of 20°C, while Parramatta starts near 11.5°C before also reaching 20°C. Over by the coast, Bondi is sitting at 13°C with a cooler top of 18°C. Looking ahead, Saturday is set to be warmer and clearer, particularly in western Sydney, with Parramatta forecast to climb to 23°C.
On the roads, the main delays are in western Sydney. At Prospect, a pedestrian hazard on the Great Western Highway at Prospect Highway has closed one of three westbound lanes, with emergency services and Transport for NSW crews on site. At Holroyd, a car breakdown is affecting the M4 Motorway eastbound off-ramp to Church Street, while another breakdown at Erskine Park is blocking lane one of two on Mamre Road southbound near Erskine Park Road. Motorists are urged to allow extra time and take care around emergency and road crews.
For commuters, it is good news across the public transport network, with Sydney Trains and Metro running normally and no reported delays or incidents. It is shaping up as another smooth day for train and metro passengers across the city.
Plus, Wake Up Sydney looks ahead to a busy Friday night, with the Rabbitohs vs Knights NRL elimination final at Allianz Stadium, the Sydney Sake Festival at The Rocks, and plenty of concerts, theatre, live music and late-night events happening across Sydney.
