South African saxophonist Linda Sikhakhane joins What A Week (WAW) for a conversation that goes far beyond jazz.

From growing up in Umlazi to studying in New York, becoming a Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz and releasing music through the legendary Blue Note Records, Linda’s journey has been shaped by sound, spirituality, ancestry and an ever-deepening search for identity.

With his new self-titled album LINDA, he turns the lens inward — exploring purpose, relationships, community and what it means to truly know yourself.

Linda speaks about the influence of John Coltrane and Winston Mankunku Ngozi, his relationship with mentor Nduduzo Makhathini, carrying African musical traditions onto global stages, and why he sometimes thinks of music not as something he creates, but something he receives.

And, of course, he brings the saxophone.
