Scouting can make your season, but too much of it can ruin a hunt before it ever starts.

In this Episode we're talking about how to find bucks and ducks without educating them in the process. How much information do you actually need? When does scouting become pressure? And at what point do you need to stop looking and start hunting?

We start on the water and break down how we scout ducks, especially on constantly changing systems like the Mississippi River. Water levels, current, backwaters, food, weather and hunting pressure can completely change where birds want to be from one day to the next. We talk about finding where birds are feeding, loafing and roosting, scouting from a distance, using OnX and weather, and why seeing 200 ducks isn't always worth pushing in for a closer look.

Then we switch over to whitetails and talk about our approach from late summer into the early season. Bedding, food, water, staging areas, glassing and trail cameras can give you a ton of information, but every trip into the woods comes with a cost.

We also get into trail camera obsession, cellular vs. SD cameras, checking cameras too often, scouting bedding areas and knowing when you've learned enough.
