Ep310. Not so MIDwives

Are you sick of men in power not understanding how female bodies work but still having the audacity to make laws about them? SAME. But in one alleged biblical incidient, that ignorance not only benefited women but saved lives. In ancient Egypt, Shiphra and Puah, a mother-daughter-midwife team, were asked to do the unthinkable- kill all of the male Hebrew babies. That request didn't pass the vibe check (with God) and they used the Pharaoh's ignorance to save lives. Even though their story has limited historical evidence, the same elements that influenced Shiphrah and Puah's lives are still impacting women today. Drink for wolves and weaponise male ignorance, because we're wining about herstory!
