What would you do if the sport you loved phohibited you from competing? Masquerade as a man? Go to the sport's country of origin? Get that sport recognized by the Olympics? Or all of the above?? That's what Rena 'Rusty' Kanokogi did when U.S. Judo competitions deemed women unworthy of competing. What started as an effort to be the tough leader of her street gang led to the inclusion of an incredible sport for men AND women in the Olympics that still persists today! Throw forcefully and nickname people after street dogs, because we're wining about herstory!
