74. When the Fear of Being “Too Much” Starts Controlling Your Relationships
In this week’s insight episode, I talk about what happens when the fear of being “too much” starts controlling the way we show up in our relationships. This episode is the realization that sometimes, anxiety controls our behavior along with our emotions. I share some of the ways fear can turn emotions into panic, urgency, hypervigilance, and self-protection, and how healing is about learning to stay connected to ourselves without letting fear become our identity.
In this episode, I share:
How fear of abandonment can change the way we act in relationshipsWhy people are often more overwhelmed by our panic than our emotions themselvesHow hypervigilance & over-explaining can reinforce the fear that we are “too much”A reminder that healing is not becoming less emotional, but learning how to stay grounded while feeling our emotions
