238 | Your Dog Said No. Now What?

<p><strong>Hey Dog Lover 🐾</strong></p><p>Your dog says no.</p><p>Maybe they pull their paw away when you try to trim their nails.</p><p>Maybe they move away when you reach toward them.</p><p>Maybe they’re very clearly communicating:</p><p><strong>“I don’t want you to do this.”</strong></p><p>So... now what?</p><p>Because I think we’ve created two extremes when it comes to listening to our dogs.</p><p>On one side:</p><p><strong>“I’m the human. You’re the dog. We’re doing this whether you like it or not.”</strong></p><p>And on the other:</p><p><strong>“My dog said no, so I have to stop.”</strong></p><p>But healthy relationships aren’t quite that simple.</p><p>Sometimes your dog is going to say:</p><p><strong>“Please don’t.”</strong></p><p>And sometimes you’re going to have to say:</p><p><strong>“I hear you. I know you don’t want me to do this.
