Why Preaching the Gospel must come with Holy Ghost Power | (TV Audio #613)

In Mark 16.15-16, the risen Christ gave His commission:

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

When I was a boy in school, I took this so literally that I preached it in the playground and classrooms: heaven or hell, choose Christ and live. But Jesus did not stop at verse 16. He immediately continued in verse 17:

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Jesus gave a clear directive that when genuine faith takes root, things happen. There is evidence. Years ago, when I began preaching and saw no fruit, my father said to me: "You need the Holy Spirit, because when He comes, He will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment."

When the Spirit of God is present, evidence follows.
