There can only be UNO! Reviving a lost art with Liz Wood

If you’ve ever spent the summer afternoon wandering down Shakedown Street or found yourself under the lights in Alpine Valley, Dicks, or Las Vegas, you know the scene runs on micro traditions. It’s a lot art, inside jokes, and the literal pieces of magic passed from stranger to stranger. And if you’ve been lucky, you’ve been handed a piece of that magic in the form of a custom Uno card.

Today’s guest sought me out, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on the mic. She is a pillar of the PHISH Uno community, a master crafter who spends endless hours creating specialized, highly detailed, lyric themed cards, tailored to specific venues and cities. Joining us today to talk about her fandom, the art of the deck, and what it means to keep this beautiful traditional alive is Phish Chick and member of the community, Liz Wood.
