How to Trust God When You Can’t Control the Outcome
Psalm 131 sermon on anxiety, control, and unanswered prayer, for anyone waiting on an outcome they can’t force. Ever been completely still on the outside while something inside you paces the room? Psalm 131 is three verses long, and it names the exact moment a good desire quietly turns into a demand. David doesn’t claim he was born calm. He says he stilled and quieted his soul, and the picture he reaches for is a weaned child. The kid who wanted the milk, and learned he still has the mother.
We get into why some anxiety is pride wearing work clothes, what Gethsemane shows about surrender that isn’t serene, and why the communion table answers a question your circumstances never could.
