Bandwagon Nerds #364: Vision Quest, Avengers Doomsday & Disney Goes Too Far

Bandwagon Nerds talks Vision Quest, Avengers: Doomsday, Rings of Power, Disney’s Star Wars Super Bowl plans and more.

Christopher Platt returns to Bandwagon Nerds this week, joining Patrick O’Dowd and PC Tunney for a packed episode covering Vision Quest, The Rings of Power, Avengers: Doomsday, and one Disney idea that sends Patrick into full rant mode.

The crew starts with Episodes 3 and 4 of Vision Quest, as Vision and Tommy Maximoff continue building an uneasy relationship while the larger AI mystery grows around them. Ultron, Jacosta, Paladin, and Vision’s increasingly complicated identity all come into focus, leading to a big cliffhanger and plenty of debate over how much the series is setting up for the future of the MCU.

From there, Patrick reacts to the first trailer for Season 3 of The Rings of Power, while Christopher and Tunney make it clear they are considerably less invested in Middle-earth.

The Nerds also break down Marvel’s MLB crossover teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, including the Fantastic Four setting, Ebbets Field references, Paul Rudd’s comedy, and growing excitement surrounding the return of the X-Men.

Then comes the main event: Patrick unloads on Disney’s plan for a Star Wars-themed Super Bowl broadcast. Tunney and Christopher push back, leading to a bigger discussion about franchise marketing, alternate broadcasts, and whether modern Star Wars has simply moved beyond Patrick.

The episode closes with a tribute to Tom Skerritt, Patrick’s strong recommendation for Wildwood, and a rundown of what everyone has been watching lately.
