Come Follow Me for Teens: "A Marvellous Work and a Wonder" (Isaiah 13-35)
This week’s Come Follow Me for Teens episode studies **Isaiah 13–35 and the theme “A Marvellous Work and a Wonder.”
Isaiah first warns about Babylon—“the glory of kingdoms”—and teaches that no matter how impressive pride, wealth, popularity, appearance, or worldly success may seem, anything built without God eventually falls. We talk about how easy it is to let the opinions of others become the measuring stick for our worth, and why the world will always keep moving that measuring stick.
Then Isaiah sees “the words of a book” coming forth and promises that through those words, the blind will see, the deaf will hear, and the meek will increase their joy in the Lord. We explore how these verses point toward the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and, even more importantly, what the Book of Mormon is meant to do in us—help us see more clearly, recognize truth, draw closer to Jesus Christ, and find greater spiritual strength in a confusing world.
Finally, Isaiah declares that God will perform “a marvellous work and a wonder.” In Isaiah 35, that marvelous work reaches people with **weak hands, feeble knees, and fearful hearts with the promise: “Be strong, fear not … he will come and save you.”
Using Isaiah’s teachings, messages from modern prophets and apostles, and personal experiences, we talk about why struggle does not mean mortality is failing, why being unfinished is not the same as being hopeless, and why we can trust that God is still doing a marvelous work in our lives.
Babylon falls. God’s word helps us see. And God is still doing a marvelous work in us.
