Hot Mess Roundup: Sex Robots in Class, Tuskegee Dress Code, and a New ASU Major In Being a Social Media Influencer

<p><strong>This Week: </strong>There’s a lot going on… and it’s a hot mess.  Tuskegee University, one of the pillars of HBCUs in America, <a href="https://thegrio.com/2026/07/26/tuskegee-university-dress-code-bonnets-do-rags/"><u>announces a new dress code</u></a> that prevents students from wearing things like duy-rags, bonnets, and bedroom shoes in classes, dining halls, and other academic settings. The administration says it’s part of the school&#39;s “responsibility to prepare its students for professional environments after graduation.” A small school district in Western NY state, serving an Indian reservation community, aborts a plan to use life-like, AI powered robots in the classroom, built by a company best known for making sex robots. Sadly, you read that correctly. And, Arizona State University announces a new major focused on helping people become social media influencers. Is it just an institutional money grab, or a legit path to a career in a massive industry?
