From Feedback to Action: Responding to PA Program Needs

In this episode, Michael Roscoe, PhD, PA-C, president of the PA Education Association, welcomes Sara Fletcher, PhD, CEO of PAEA, for a conversation about how the association is listening to members and responding to the evolving needs of PA programs. Fletcher shares how PAEA gathers insights through surveys, direct conversations, events and volunteer groups, as well as newer opportunities such as Program Director Virtual Roundtables, role-based virtual retreats, topic-specific listening sessions and regional education meetings. They explore some of the most pressing issues emerging from those conversations, including faculty recruitment and retention, changing learner needs, increased accommodation requests, AI, remediation and success coaching, accessibility requirements and securing clinical sites. The conversation also takes a closer look at accreditation, including member concerns around clarity, consistency, transparency, resource demands and the ability to innovate, and how PAEA’s newly released guiding principles will help shape continued engagement and advocacy on behalf of its members.
