Box 13 presents “Shanghaied,” episode 6 of the mystery-adventure series, originally broadcast September 26, 1948. Alan Ladd stars as mystery writer Dan Holiday, with Sylvia Picker as Suzy. The episode is also known in some archival listings as “The Boat Ruthie J.”

After an anonymous response to Dan’s “Adventure wanted” advertisement directs him to Bay City Pier at night, a waterfront challenge leads him aboard the Ruthie J—and into a dangerous maritime mystery. Written by Frank Hertosig and Ted Hediger and directed by Ted Hediger.

Box 13 presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
