China is set to experience an unprecedented surge in travel demand during the seven-day National Day holiday, from Oct 1 to 7, with an expected 2.13 billion cross-regional trips across the country — averaging more than 300 million trips per day, said the Ministry of Transport.

交通运输部表示，10 月 1 日至 7 日的国庆七天假期，我国旅游出行需求将迎来前所未有的暴涨，全国跨区域出行量预计达 21.3 亿人次，日均超 3 亿人次。

The travel volume is expected to peak on Thursday, with about 340 million trips recorded on the first day of the holiday, nearly twice the normal daily level.

出行量预计在假期首日（周四）达到高峰，当日出行约 3.4 亿人次，接近平日日均水平的两倍。

China's railway network is handling the heaviest passenger flow in its history. About 284 million passenger trips are expected during the 16-day railway holiday travel period from Sept 23 to Oct 8, with an average of about 13,000 passenger trains planned per day, according to national railway operator China State Railway Group.

全国铁路迎来史上最大客流。国铁集团介绍，9 月 23 日至 10 月 8 日为期 16 天的铁路国庆黄金周运输期间，预计发送旅客 2.84 亿人次，日均安排旅客列车约 1.3 万列。

On Oct 1 alone, the national railway system is expected to transport 24.8 million passengers, with 2,324 additional trains deployed, it said.

国铁集团表示，仅 10 月 1 日当天，全国铁路预计发送旅客 2480 万人次，加开列车 2324 列。

To accommodate the surge, railway operators have added about 700 overnight high-speed rail services on trunk lines including the Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Harbin routes. Major hubs such as Wuhan in Hubei province and Nanchang in Jiangxi province have launched round-the-clock operations.

为应对客流高峰，铁路部门在京广、京沪、京哈等干线增开约 700 列夜间高铁。湖北武汉、江西南昌等主要枢纽车站实行全天候运营。

Additionally, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, from Sept 25 to Oct 7, the country's civil aviation sector is expected to transport 31.19 million passengers, averaging 2.4 million per day, an increase of 3.6 percent.

此外，中国民用航空局数据显示，9 月 25 日至 10 月 7 日，民航预计运送旅客 3119 万人次，日均 240 万人次，同比增长 3.6%。
