Come Follow Me for Teens: "God is My Salvation" (Isaiah 1-12)
This week’s Come Follow Me for Teens episode studies Isaiah 1–12 with the theme “Though Your Sins Be as Scarlet.”
Isaiah can sometimes feel difficult to understand, but one question can help us make our way through these chapters:
What am I learning about Jesus Christ?
Across Isaiah 1–12, we explore three connected truths about the Savior: the hope He offers when we have sinned, what His many names teach us about who He can be in our lives, and how knowing Him more deeply can bring greater peace into our relationships and even the way we see ourselves.
We begin with one of the most hopeful promises anywhere in scripture:
“Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”
Isaiah 1 does not minimize Israel’s sins. The people had wandered from God and needed to change.
But right in the middle of that correction comes an invitation:
“Come now.”
We explore the important difference between the way Satan speaks to someone who has sinned and the way Jesus Christ does.
Satan wants our mistakes to become our identity.
Christ invites us to repent because He knows our mistakes do not have to determine who we become.
